My name is James Deboo and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new editor of Keer to Kent. Brought up in Wiltshire, I went to Lancaster University in 1997 and to cut a long story story, I’m still here! I studied English Literature, finally gaining a PhD on William Wordsworth, since when I’ve been working as a freelance editor and writer. I contribute to various outdoor magazines and I’ve published a book, Souls of Lonely Places, about Cumbrian landscapes. I live just outside the AONB boundary in Milnthorpe with my wife, a local GP, and three young children, who are particular enthusiasts about limestone pavements. You’ll find us deer spotting in Dallam Park, fairy spotting at Fairy Steps and red squirrel spotting just about anywhere. I’m very excited to be taking Keer to Keer forward and offer the magazine many congratulations on reaching its 100th issue.
