Mike Warren. A visit on successful Landscape Trust business to Leighton a few days ago so a look round first. Goldeneye at the Lower Hide were nice and found a Tree Creeper.
A cheeky unauthorised extra. Many of you know that Jean is in care with Alzheimer's disease, hence occasional (good weather!) posts from Clitheroe. Our Granddaughter Amelia (MiMi) is running the Edinburgh Half Marathon for Alzheimer's research. A chance for me to help and anyone else who may have experience/contact with this disease, should they wish.

I Iived in Nyasaland (now Malawi) for 3 years and although I saw plenty of evidence that leopard were living in the forest reserves that I managed and visited. I never saw one in daylight, or fortunately when on foot in my forest at Lusangazi and only saw them from a distance on the Vipya and once close up from the safety of a landrover at Luwawa Forest!
I have also 'not seen' when we went out specially at dawn to see lynx in Coto Donana in Andalucia, so I agree with this:

Mike Warren. Lovely day so Gaitbarrows and tide chasing. Bore at Arnside was small (although a 10 metre tide) but with the river at Sandside being on the Foulshaw side now, got some pictures of the icy channels etc. and some videos of a surprisingly good bore. ... See MoreSee Less
