Then attended the inauguration of the Tramper route from Leighton to Trowbarrow, Haweswater, Challon Hall allotment Coldwell Meadow and Gaitbarrows and return. It's been several years in preparation and should allow less able-bodied people to enjoy some of our highlights. Mike Warren. A few hours at Leighton. Some pictures all annotated. Note the Clark's Mining bee - trying to mine the Causeway - perhaps a bit stony! The Flavous Nomad bee is a kleptoparasite of these and other similar species. The miner lays eggs and stocks the mine with pollen - the Nomad lays its eggs in the miner's nest and it's larvae eat the lot! True mining bees will be seen carrying pollen but Nomads don't need to. ... See MoreSee Less
